Our goal is to ensure that the APSE membership is kept informed regarding what is happening on the national, state, and local levels related to the employment of people with disabilities. This includes disseminating information that impacts the employment of individuals with disabilities on the APSE website and through a quarterly newsletter to the membership. Communication Committee Co-Chairs: Dr. Katherine Inge and Suzanne Hutcheson Conference and Training Committee APSE has embraced the concepts of Advancing Employment and Connecting People. The Conference and Training committee will play an important role in each of these areas: The committee has the role of gathering the resources to design, support and deliver a premier annual national conference pulling together hundreds of professionals and stakeholders in the field of employment. Additionally, APSE is committed to providing leadership, direction and resources to support the training and staff development of thousands of professionals who work with individuals with disabilities on their journey to employment. Conference and Training Committee Co-Chairs: Wendy Quarles and Cesilee Coulson Public Policy Committee The main function of the public policy committee is to advise APSE's Executive Director and assist in the development and implementation of public policy strategies consistent with APSE's mission and strategic plan. The committee will work in collaboration with APSE's Executive Director to determine recommendations for priorities and direction for APSE's public policy efforts. This committee will, in conjunction with the Executive Director present recommendations to APSE's Executive Board for approval prior to taking action. For the purposes of the committee, public policy will include pertinent legislation and regulations, appointment of officials to key government posts, administrative policies impacting the integration of individuals with disabilities in integrated community employment (including funding policies), and budget allocations.
